An egg tray drying machine should be selected from the moisture that must be removed from accepted wet trays, not simply from the headline speed of the forming machine. If forming produces faster than drying can receive, trays wait, deform and require extra handling. If the dryer is oversized without a matching heat source, transfer system and production schedule, capital and energy are underused. The buyer’s task is to balance one repeatable line around saleable dry trays per shift.
Begin with tray design, wet and dry weight, required final moisture, hourly formed output, operating hours, local climate, available land, labor and fuel. YG forming configurations cover reference capacities from 1,000 to 7,000 pieces per hour, but the correct dryer must be checked against the actual mold, pulp recipe and rejection rate. See the egg tray machine and egg tray production line for the connected forming stages.
Drying Capacity As The Egg Tray Production Bottleneck
Map trays from mold release to packing. Record the wet-tray rate during stable forming, transfer interruptions, dryer loading, residence time under the approved process, cooling, inspection and stacking. Count accepted dry trays rather than multiplying mold cavities by cycles. A queue before the dryer, frequent transfer stops or moisture variation after drying shows that the practical bottleneck is downstream even when the forming machine itself runs normally.
Wet weight matters more than piece count alone. A heavier or uneven tray carries more water and may need a different heat and airflow duty. Sample trays across the mold, weigh them at fixed points and compare moisture after drying. Correct unstable pulp consistency, vacuum distribution or blocked mold holes before buying additional dryer capacity; a dryer cannot make inconsistent wet products uniform.

Egg Tray Drying Methods For Different Factory Conditions
The useful comparison includes land, weather exposure, labor, fuel, automation, product consistency and expansion—not equipment price alone.
Natural Drying
Natural drying can suit lower output where warm, dry weather and sufficient clean land are dependable. It needs racks or prepared surfaces, repeated manual movement and protection from rain, dust and wind. Seasonal humidity changes residence time and inventory. The calculation must include the number of trays simultaneously outside, walking routes, breakage, night storage and the production lost during unsuitable weather.
Brick Drying Kiln
A brick kiln can provide a more controlled route with locally available construction and fuel. Its result depends on chamber geometry, heat distribution, ventilation, loading pattern and operator practice. Confirm who supplies civil drawings, burners, fans, conveyor or carts, insulation and controls. Uneven heat may overdry edges while leaving dense tray areas wet, so trials and multiple moisture readings are essential.
Multilayer Metal Drying Line
A multilayer metal line offers compact continuous transfer and is usually considered for higher, steadier output. The scope must define layers, conveying, heat source, recirculation, exhaust, insulation, controls and safe maintenance access. Compactness increases coordination requirements: forming discharge, transfer pitch and dryer speed must agree, and a stoppage plan is needed so wet trays do not accumulate or remain in damaging heat.

Production Data Used To Size An Egg Tray Drying Machine
Use a mass balance. For each tray, subtract target dry mass from wet mass to estimate water removed. Multiply by accepted trays per hour, then account for normal variation and planned utilization. The dryer supplier converts this load into a proposed thermal and airflow design using tray geometry, ambient conditions and fuel. Do not invent a universal temperature or residence time; both belong to the approved tray and equipment trial.
The table is a line-matching checklist. Published forming capacity is a starting tier, not guaranteed dryer output.
| Forming tier | Dryer verification required |
| 1,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 1,500 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 2,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 2,500 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 3,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 4,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 5,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |
| 7,000 pcs/h | Wet weight, dry weight, final moisture, climate, fuel and accepted trial output |

Heat, Airflow And Fuel Evaluation
Fuel availability is a system constraint. Record local electricity supply, gas pressure, biomass type and moisture, coal restrictions or other approved fuels, together with cost, storage, ash handling and emissions requirements. A cheap fuel can become expensive when supply varies or labor and cleaning are ignored. Ask the proposal to state its design assumptions and included burner, furnace, exchanger, fan and exhaust scope.
Air must deliver heat across the full tray load and remove released moisture. Inspect distribution, recirculation, exhaust control and temperature measurement points. Excess heat at one location does not correct poor circulation elsewhere. The acceptance trial should compare positions and layers, checking moisture, color, warping and strength. Safety review covers combustion, guarding, hot surfaces, fire control and ventilation under local rules.

Transfer Equipment And Factory Layout Effects On Output
Draw the route from forming molds to dryer entry, through every turn and layer, then to cooling and stacking. Confirm tray pitch, support points, maximum transfer height, access for removing damaged trays and the response to a short stop. Manual transfer may be flexible at small output but creates labor and handling variation. Automatic transfer reduces touches only when sensors, timing and maintenance access are coordinated.
Include pulping tanks, forming machine, dryer, heat source, fuel storage, exhaust, electrical panels, water return, finished-product buffer and forklift routes. Leave service clearance and an emergency removal path. A dryer that fits the building footprint but blocks burner service or finished-tray movement will not achieve the planned shift output.

Egg Tray Dryer Production Trial Requirements
Run the normal tray at the planned forming rate long enough to show steady loading, heating, cooling and stacking. Record pulp recipe, wet weight distribution, ambient condition, fuel, forming output, transfer stops and dryer settings. Sample trays from different positions and times. Measure final moisture and inspect deformation, discoloration, cracking, nesting and compression strength using the buyer’s accepted method.
The test must distinguish formed output, dryer entry, dry output and accepted packed output. Demonstrate restart after a controlled interruption and show how operators remove jams or wet trays safely. Retain the settings and sample criteria in the acceptance record. Maximum forming speed is not acceptance if the dryer produces variable trays or the packing area cannot clear them.

Egg Tray Drying Machine Ordering Checklist
Require tray drawing and weight, raw paper range, pulp consistency target, mold arrangement, accepted wet output, final moisture criterion, shift plan, drying method, heat source, transfer, electrical supply, water and exhaust conditions. The quotation should separate supplied equipment, civil work, fuel system, installation responsibilities, commissioning, training, spare parts and performance assumptions.
Plan expansion from the balanced line rather than reserving only a larger former. Extra molds, pulping, drying, stacking and utilities must grow together. If future output is uncertain, ask which modules can be added and what foundations, ducts, controls or building clearance must be prepared now.

Egg Tray Drying Machine Buyer FAQ
No. Tray mass, geometry, wet weight, final moisture and stacking requirements change the drying load and transfer.
Not necessarily. Land, labor, weather downtime, handling damage and inventory must be included.
Only as a starting tier. Use accepted wet output and water-removal load, then verify the complete line in a trial.
